Here is a compilation of trains we saw on Super Train Sunday. I think I have spent nearly the last 10 years foaming instead of watching "The Game"...anyway, the video is kind of long, but it was a great sunny day, with temps reaching 80 degrees in Tehachapi for a while.
Finally, I got down to the Layout for an Opp. Session. I was the Southern Pacific Bakersfield Yard switcher on the East end. This video shows just some of the hundereds of cars that I moved. I hope you enjoy this video!

The aftermath of a freight train derailment at Caliente. A freightcar derailed and damaged a switch. After it was repaired the trains were backed up for miles in each direction, so there was a constant parade of freights until sunset and through the night.

On November 8th, I was aboard Amtrak #14 as it detoured through the Tehachapi Mountains of California. Part 1 follows the train from Acton to Palmdale, and includes a meet with a Metrolink Antelope Valley Line train.
Note the presence of railfans perched atop overpasses, as the photograph this historic routing of our train.

This time I'm catching a Southern Pacific South bound ahead of Walong, on Woodford Rd, then I catch it again at the loop (not really a chase, I had plenty of time driving the distance). One AC4400CW and one C44-9W on the point plus two SD40M-2 as helpers.

We filmed this the last weekend in April 2007. It's lots of trains around the Tehachapi Loop area. They are mostly going in and out of the tunnels. Due to bridge repair near Santa Barbara on Union Pacific's Coast Subdivision, Amtrak had to detour the Coast Starlight through Tehachapi on June 22, 2008.
I chased the southbound #11 from Bakersfield to the Tehachapi Loop.
