A Thermojet (primitive jet engine) I constructed using soup cans with holes drilled through the bottom and a TMD fan borrowed from my computer heatsink plus some other support equipment. This is a walkthrough of my setup.
A Thermojet engine uses a separate motor or engine (rather than a gas turbine) to drive the fan or compressor that feeds air into the combustor.

I found an ignition module for a Bryant/Carrier furnace automatic pilot and decided to use it for my Thermojet . The ignition box requires 24vac but my train transformer provides 18 volts ac. It still worked and ignited the propane very effectively. No more lighters or matches needed.
The old TMD fan has been replaced with a Vantec Tornado.

This is a Home build amplifier, built into a soup can. The Circuit is a LM386 with a few other parts running off a 9v.
The sound you hear in the background is sf2 on my MAME arcade machine. But that will be another video.
