Me and my sisters saw this insect the other day, and as you can see it looks like a mix between a humming bird and a moth.
Does anybody know what it's called?
EDIT:
Apparently, it is called a hummingbird hawk moth. You learn something new every day

moth 9 inches wing to wing landed on my porch with a chunk bitten off of its wing. it only stayed a short while before it flew off. i never saw a moth this big before and if i saw it flying it would be sight to see. to get an idea of how big it is, the white metal on the porch is 1 inch and 1/4 inches, wish i put a gijoe or something next to it to show the size.
