Tributes have been paid to Guardsman Daniel Probyn (22), of Tipton in the West Midlands, who served with the Grenadier Guards and Corporal Darren Bonner (31), of Gorleston, in Norfolk, who served with the 1st battalion the Royal Anglian Regiment.
Both men were killed on operational duty in Afghanistan. Their repatriation ceremony took place at RAF Lyneham with full military honours.

Guardsman Downes's vehicle was hit by an explosion when on a patrol with the Afghan National Army (ANA) close to the town of Sangin in Helmand Province.
The Grenadier Guards and the ANA had been taking part in an operation to help widen and deepen irrigation ditches for locals in the area. Guardsman Downes died from the injuries he sustained in the explosion.

46115 Scots Guardsman on the annual Lune Habitat railtour from Carnforth to Chester via Settle Junction and Blackburn. Seen on the 1:150 climb to Eldroth at Clapham Moor (on the outward leg), topping the 4-mile, 1:99 climb to Hoghton Tower and finally on the 1:100 approaching Giggleswick Summit (on the return). Quite an engine!
Four National Guard units from Eastern Washington will be heading back to Iraq by the end of the year. For one guard member, it is an opportunity to try and finish the job.

Taken on 08/26/2007 in Guardsman Pass, in Utah. This is a pass between Big Cottonwood Canyon and Park City (Parleys Canyon). Footage was shot by my friend in his Mazda 3 without my knowledge, lol...
