Ethiopians who lived in Beirut, Lebanon arrived in Addis Ababa late Monday and reunited with their families. The returnees are the first batch to arrive safely from Lebanon. More Ethiopians are expected to arrive to Ethiopia by Air and Ship in the next few days.
Gonder University, Engineering Faculty got 110 Million Birr allocation from the Federal Government.
The expansions will upgrade Gonder University with capability of having, a research department, modern library, computer labs, and dormitory. It will also allow the university to intake additional 5400 students every year.
The recent ethnic tension between Oromo students and Tigrian students were diffused when elders, religious leaders and other concerned part of the community held "Students Reconciliation" day.
The first evacuees from Lebanon will arrive in Ethiopia Monday night. The evacuees had to travel to Syria Damascus by bus, after which the Ethiopian government arranged a chartered flight from Damascus to Sanna Yemen. Unlike many nations, including the U.S, the Ethiopian government is not requiring the evacuees to pay for their trip. Watch Video here.
