This montage was made to commemorate the elimination of the No. 9 train from the New York City Subway system. #1 and #9 trains used to make skip-stops between 137th Street in Manhattan and 242nd Street in the Bronx; now #1 trains make all stops. The first clip, the next-to-last clip, and one other clip in the middle were from the very last #9 train ever to run in service.
My second attempt at making a montage of random transit photos and videos in my collection. This one is nothing but night shots. There's a lot more trains than buses in this one since I didn't have a lot of bus shots in my collection at the time.
A 2003 blizzard left an unused center track covered in snow well above the height of the 3rd rail. They tried to send a train down it. The result was quite a light show. Sorry for the crappy quality (Mustek cameras suck).
NJT's new bi-level trainset caught me by surprise at Trenton in the height of the PM rush hour, discharging at Trenton and heading towards Morrisville Yard.
Me almost getting knocked over by a high-speed Amtrak train deciding to use the local track, at Princeton Jct of all places (one of the highest-speed sections on the Northeast Corridor).
